So Long, Farewell (21 Apr 09)
I’ve come to realize that blogging is really not for me.
I’m a pretty private person, which means I felt kind of uncomfortable posting stuff about myself online. It also means that my personal site is, unfortunately, not very personal at all. Thus, it seems counterproductive for me to try to maintain a personal site while trying not to reveal too much about myself.
Furthermore, I was never really pleased with anything I blogged about. There’s a quote by Henry David Thoreau that I really like: “How vain it is to sit down to write when you have not stood up to live.” Even though I’m about to graduate from high school, I don’t feel like I’ve really done anything in my life worth writing about. I aim to change that.
So I’ve decided to remove my blog from the blogosphere.
I’ll still be checking my feedreader and reading your blogs, however. It would be a pity to miss out on all the good stuff you guys come up with. I’ll probably be commenting even less than I normally do, but if I do, I won’t be using the name Kycoo anymore, though; I’ve decided to start using my real name Joanna online.
I don’t think I’ll ever come back to blogging, but who knows?
As a closing note, I’d like to add that Amanda is every bit as awesome as she was when she offered me hosting three years ago. I never got to know her that well, since I never really immersed myself in the blogging community, but I still admire her a lot.
